Micro-Ray Electronics offers customers a choice of either thick film or thin film printheads. Our printheads have a hard protective coating that extends the abrasive life of the printheads by up to four times that of our competition. Thin film technology is desirable where high resolution and small resistance variation is required. Applications such as graphics and color printing can take advantage of the superior print quality characteristics of thin film printhead technology. Thick film technology is desirable where heavy use and harsh environments, such as cold and dust, are present. Applications such as bar coding and high volume ticketing can take advantage of the superior wear life characteristics of thick film printhead technology
